Eduardo Kobra Report

Eduardo Kobra - The 9/11 victims

The 9/11 attack was a big thing that had happened and a lot of dogs and people had suffered from depression. Eduardo created this mural because he aimed it at showing the essence of his work as a muralist and his view on the world, As in immigration and refugees, as well as the history of the city. He said it had taken 3 years for him to complete this mural and that he sees the mural as “the capital of the world”.

I chose Eduardo Kobra because he paints things about what is happening in  our world and what problems have been happening, he has been making a few things known by his art. Eduardo is from São Paulo, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Eduardo goes  around his country and around the world painting things that have happened in the past or are happening at the time.

He has a lot of paintings around the world and they all have a certain meaning, some could be based on what is happening in the world during the time he is painting. Mind you, many many people paint something related to what is happening in the world during the time they’re painting. In a large amount of murals Eduardo Kobra has painted they have to have something to do either with the city or with the time.

Eduardo Kobra had made this painting in new york for the men/women who had been a victim in the 9/11 attack on the 1st of september 2001. Many many people and animals had been affected on the day of the attack, Some people had suffered for years until they had gotten help, the victims of the attack went through a lot and Eduardo Kobra thought that they should be recognized upon the city and world.

Poi rakau

This week is Maori language so we're getting intronuced to more maori food and games, Today we played a game called 'Poi rakau' this game is when each person playing has a wooden stick and stand in a circle.

'Whaka te Maui' is Left
'Whaka te Matou' is Right

How the game goes is you all stand in a circle and one or two person stand aside and yell out either Whaka te Maui or Whaka te Matou, Slowly people start to get out as you start to go faster. It leaves you with two people. the person/people that stood aside is now going to stand in the middle of the two people and yell Whaka te Maui or Whaka te Matou, if they both drop the stick then you have to keeping going until one person gets out.

Journal Entry

What future do you think you will be doing when you finish college?
In the future I don’t actually know what I'll be doing, either working in a place with plates chattering, oil popping and Karen asking for our manager or sitting in a courtroom defending my patient who got accused of something they may or may not have done.

I hope to be helping them, making sure they don’t go jail and over all being the best that they could get or I hope to be the manager yelling back at Karen and making sure she gets back what she deserves.

That’s what I hope the future holds ahead of us, I don’t want to be that one person that sits in  their room all day and all night. The one person that never goes out or the one person people don’t talk to, I don’t want to be the one person that doesn’t have a job. I want to be the person who can get out and go places or the person who can help people when they need help. This is the work we have been assigned for the first class of lockdown, I hope everyone is staying safe in quarantine.

Dear Ms Ardern,
I am writing to you to inform you on how good you are doing on helping our country
through this world pandemic. My family, friends, school and I would like to thank you for getting us through everything that has been happening and how much you have helped the essential services.

During the time we were on alert level 3 and 4 I noticed many people have been getting out of the house and going on walks with their family. A lot of people have been interacting with their family and getting closer. I have learnt many new things about me, my family and anything in general, The thing that I had learnt the most was you have been putting us New Zealand’s before yourself and we have trusted you. Our safety is in your arms and you are making sure you do the best you can at all times, for a woman who is a full time mother as well as a prime minister you are doing an amazing job and you are the best thing that has happened to New Zealand in a long time.

You have been doing such a great job that schools, teachers, waitresses and more have been sent back to their regular schedule. Schools have been the hardest thing for younger kids to get used to going to everyday online but now we have been sent back to school we are getting settled back in, We are so proud to be in a country run by someone so selfless and kind.

Hope the best for you and your family. Thank you,

Coree Falwasser

Letter to Eva

Coree Falwasser

May 12th

Dear Eva,

Hello!  I come from a country that is 17 hours and 45 minutes away from your country. How is it like over there? Over here personally I think it is quite nice sometimes to be in a country that is safer than others. If we are being honest at one point when I was younger I thought my country was so big until I found google maps.

My name is Coree and my life is rather interesting, I come from a small country called New Zealand. We got an amazing governor that people over here call ‘Aunty Cindy’ professionally people call her Jacinda Adern, I have a great teacher called Mr.Nik’s, and then you have that one child that knows almost everyone in their area..Me. I am 12 years old and an average height of 5ft 6, I have a big Maori family that absolutely loves their food. My zodiac sign is Cancer but that does not really tell you anything about me since I am not an emotional person, I am quite a more outgoing person when I’m in a crowd I really know but when not i’m just hidden in the background. I have an interesting mix of cultures but my main culture is Maori since both my parents are Maori. My Dad is German and Maori and My mum Is Maori and Chinese.

I go to a school that starts in year 1 and finishes at year 8, It is located in Glen Innes, Auckland, and is run by our amazing staff. We have an incredible principal we call Mr.Herlihy and we have Teachers that are one of a kind, Glen Taylor School is the one and the only school that I have been to but sadly it is coming to an end since I am a year 8 student. I enjoy reading comics in my spare time since they are more appealing to me than the normal book. Right now I am reading down to earth. My favorite TV show is Ru-pauls drag race because it is really interesting and has a lot of drama.

Due to this world pandemic I have discovered a lot of songs during this time, I came across many genres of music but have found a couple of songs that I listen to every day. Number one, Maniac by Conan Gray..Really good song to listen to when you are bored. Number two, Easy by Chris Brown and Dani Leigh..It’s a nice and smooth song. Finally number three, Physical by Dua lipa..This song is just a really good song and gets you in the mood to clean or cook. I listen to these songs when I am either cooking, drawing or just relaxing.

Hope you learned a lot about me and where I come from, Looking forward to hearing a reply from you!

King regards, Coree
