Going..Going..Going..Gone

Over the years, scientists have made some surprising discoveries. One of
these discoveries is that we have entire cities (e.g. Jakarta, Indonesia and Venice, Italy) that are slowly sinking into the ocean. Scientists believe that one day the cities will disappear completely under the water.
Some of the people living in the cities have taken pictures of their neighbourhoods and written stories about their lives in order to make a record of what life was like in their city before it disappeared.

Let’s imagine that New Zealand was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean next week. Before it sinks you are asked to write a blog post telling people what life was like in New Zealand in 2018.

2018
Fortnite,Scandals and New People.
2018 was a year with lots of drama and lots of new things and if you are reading this in 2019 (Tommorow) or 2020 or further you would look back and think what a stupid youtube rewind that was.You will also remember the popualar people that lost their fame due to things.(*Coughs* Logan paul).2018 will be remembered as memories that some poeple didn't like...If you are reading this in a new year Hi how are ya? and How the year?
(Comment below how the future is lol)

Living on the edge!

While it can get quite cold in New Zealand, it rarely drops below freezing (00C). Most of the time the temperature in New Zealand is pretty mild. This is not the case in the tundra. The tundra is an area of land that is cold, dry and completely treeless. Did you know that the average temperature in the tundra is 280C?

Over the past few years some how the temperature in the tundra has been rising and the weather has been changing. Let’s imagine that your teacher decides to take you on a class trip to the tundra before the weather changes too much and you aren’t able to go.
(Fake note) (lol)
Dear Mother,
Our class was going to go tundra but the weather kept changing.
The teacher was very worried about our safety and decided that we couldn't go.
The class was so upset but we decided to serch it up on the web and found interesting facts.Did you know that has reindeer?.Maybe one day you can take us there to see the interesting plants and animals there. (Maybe I might see rudolph).

Blink and You’ll Miss It

Blink and You’ll Miss It All
Before humans arrived, more than 80% of New Zealand was covered in trees. Most of the North Island and nearly all of the South Island – except Central Otago and the Mackenzie Basin – was forested.Logging involves cutting down trees. The people who cut them down are called loggers. The trees that they cut down are sold and used to build things, to make products and to generate heat and power. Over the past two centuries, many of the trees in New Zealand have been cut down by loggers.

Why?

Many people in the world don't like themselve or someone else or they think their ugly or someone else but there is no point to!
You should always love yourself because your life is short and you only have as many years as you live. It's like you might think your ugly and you need plastic surgery but some people are just cruel.
Those people are people that are self conscious so they have to put people down so they feel good.|
I may not like people but I still talk to them and make sure they are ok.
Imagine a world where everyone judge you and you were all alone.
We need to stop people who put people down. We need to change the bad for the good! <3
If you ever feel down remember that you are not alone and you have other people!
xx Be happy and God Bless

Hmmm?? Pancakes and Maple Syrup?

New Zealand is home to many spectacular sights and natural wonders. One of these is the Punakaiki Rocks and Blowholes located on the West Coast of the South Island. The Punakaiki rocks attract tourists from all over the world who are keen to see these amazing rock formations. Many people think that they look like pancakes stacked on top of one another.

My Favorite food:
Lasanga

Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, cook sausage, beef and onion over medium heat 8-10 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, breaking up meat into crumbles. Add garlic; cook 1 minute. Drain.
Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, water, sugar, 3 tablespoons parsley, basil, fennel, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a small bowl, mix egg, ricotta cheese, and remaining parsley and salt.
Preheat oven to 375°. Spread 2 cups meat sauce into an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Layer with three noodles and a third of the ricotta mixture. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining meat sauce and cheeses (dish will be full).
Bake, covered, 25 minutes. Bake, uncovered, 25 minutes longer or until bubbly. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.

More than Meets the Eye

New Zealand is a country of mountains and valleys and forests, and sparkling oceans. At the centre of the South Island sits the tallest mountain in the country called Mt Cook. It is the place where Sir Edmund Hillary (The first man to reach the top of Mt Everest) learned how to climb mountains.

If Sir Edmund Hillary was still alive I would ask him these questions:
Would you change anything you did in the past?
When did you start?
Why did you start climbing mountains?
Who inspired you?
What is something you would tell a starter?

Question to you:
What would you ask to Sir Edmund Hillary?

The WWF

In 1961, a number of people came together to start an organisation called the WWF. The main goal of this organisation was/is to protect life on earth. Hundreds of WWF staff work in countries all over the world trying to protect our planet and the animals who live here.
If you need to know more watch these two video:

Clip #1: Freshwater Seals Clip #2: Tigers
The wwf are working to save endangered freshwater seals. They have built snowbanks so the pupps can be born on them and have protection.
They made sure that the pups are safe and sound.

Awesome animals~The Secretive Skink 2

The Secretive Skink
In New Zealand we don't have much small lizzards.According to the Department of Conservation Chevron Skinks live mostly on two islands Great Barrier Island and Little Barrier Island and these islands are animal reserves. The DOC staff are called ‘Rangers.Their job is to protect the wildlife living on the island.

Would you like to be a DOC ranger and live with the animals on Great Barrier Island?

Goods about being a DOC ranger:
You get to take care of the enviroment so we can still have plants
You get to take care of wildlife
You get to take care of things in need in the wild

Bad things about DOC ranger:
You might get hypothermia
You might get hurt

New Zealand 5:
Back AGAIN to share wonderful things about the world like the water the plants...Wait..Plants?!
New Zealand is just one of many countries that has amazing plants and trees. Also the African desert is home to some incredible plants like the cactus. Some cacti are able to survive on as little as 3 millilitres of water a day.
What if you got given a cactus on christmas and you had to give it 3ml a day?
How much water would that be in a whole year?

There are many things in New zealand that are interesting many people find our trees interesting forn some reason. Why?
They Find our trees interesting because they might not have it in their country in fact most of new zealands trees are only found in New zealand.

he largest Kauri tree in the country is in the Waipoua Forest in Northland. It is called Tāne Mahuta. Some people call it as the Lord of the Forest.
Would you like to be one of those people who got to see Tāne Mahuta in real life? Why or why not?
I would go but there are a few reasons why I wouldn't.
Reson 1: I don't like being near lots of plants because of bugs and bees
Reason 2:I hate going outside
Reason 3: There might be to much people
Reason 4:To Far
Reasons to go:
Reason 1:You can tell people you went there
Reason 2: You might find it interesting
Reason 3: You might like the outside

Best friends!

Everyone should have someone who is there when you are sad...Your best friend.
They treat you like family the're some who will make you feel happy when you are down.

It may be hard to get through life but they are there so keep them.
Don't let them slip away. They may lie and laugh when you fall but that's
Normal so keep them as long as possible
Remember they are someone you trust forever.
