More than Meets the Eye:Scaling New Heights
New Zealand is a country of mountains and valleys and forests, and sparkling oceans. At the centre of the South Island sits the tallest mountain in the country called Mt Cook. It is the place where Sir Edmund Hillary (The first man to reach the top of Mt Everest) learned how to climb mountains.

If Sir Edmund Hillary was still alive I would ask him these questions:
Would you change anything you did in the past?
When did you start?
When did you start?
Why did you start climbing mountains?
Who inspired you?
What is something you would tell a starter?
Question to you:
What would you ask to Sir Edmund Hillary?
Kia ora Coree,
ReplyDeleteI really like the five questions that you have come up with for Sir Edmund Hillary. It is a shame that he isn't alive or else we might be able to find out what inspired him to start climbing (and to attempt Everest), what he would tell someone just starting out or at what age we started climbing. I have seen footage of Sir Edmund Hillary and the man who helped him climb, Everest, Mr Tenzing Norgay. If you're keen to learn a little bit more about their amazing accomplishment, please check out this clip on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbD3bdcIsus
If I had the chance to meet Sir Edmund in real life I would have asked him why he didn't ever go back to Everest to try and climb it again. I suspect that it was just too dangerous but I would be interested in hearing his response. What about you? Are there any other questions that you would have liked to ask him?
Bye for now!
