New zealand! The land with Lots of dirty water I said it most of our lakes are too polluted to even swim in...One of the most polluted is the Tarawera River in the Bay of Plenty (Ewww Gross)
Many other rivers in New Zealand are also polluted with waste from businesses and farms (How rude are they??)
Manawatu river is also a polluted river and Some people may know this but Auckland is the area wiuth the most polluted rivers!!
Manawatu river is in Wanganui in the north island
In order to clean this the Horowhenua branch has joined the Manawatu Leaders Accord
Porirua Is another river/lake that is polluted the greens I think are helping clean it...
This river is found in the Wellington region.

You've done a good job of identifying 2 rivers in New Zealand that are polluted and that need to be cleaned up. Good for you.
Isn't it sad to think that this is the case? Thank goodness there are people willing to work hard to find ways to stop pollution from entering the water systems and to improve the health of these rivers.
Have you ever been up to Wanganui to see the Manawatu river? Does your family travel a bit in the summer time?
I've had time in the South Island, around Dunedin, and it's just beautiful. There are a lot of farms on the South Island, of course, and sometimes it's the farms that contribute to the polluting of the rivers. Hard to believe!! Farmers have been asked to build fences to keep their animals out of the rivers and to be careful about any pesticide use. Even those that grow our food have to be part of the solution.
I hope you're enjoying lots of fun time outside this summer, perhaps visiting beaches or lakes or rivers.
And I hope you'll keep working away at these activities. You're doing so well!
